ESL Credit Courses

This course is designed for English language learners at an early intermediate level. Students strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English while expanding their vocabulary and understanding of Canadian culture. Through fully online lessons, ESLBO supports language development across subjects and prepares students for success in more advanced ESL levels.

ESL Credit Courses

This course further extends students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English for a variety of everyday and academic purposes. Students will make short classroom oral presentations; read a variety of adapted and original texts in English; and write using a variety of text forms. As well, students will expand their academic vocabulary and their study skills to facilitate their transition to the mainstream school program. This course also introduces students to the rights and responsibilities inherent in Canadian citizenship, and to a variety of current Canadian issues.

Course image ESLDO – English as a Second Language, Level 4 (Open)
ESL Credit Courses

This course is for English language learners at the advanced level. Students refine their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through academic tasks and various texts. Emphasis is placed on essay writing, critical thinking, and communication in academic contexts. Delivered fully online, ESLDO prepares students for the final ESL level or transition into mainstream English courses such as ENG2D.

This final level in the ESL program prepares students to transition into mainstream English courses. Students enhance their academic reading and writing skills, focus on advanced grammar and vocabulary, and engage in critical discussions and analysis of complex texts. Delivered fully online, ESLEO supports students in developing the confidence and language proficiency needed for success in courses like ENG2D and beyond.
